Weird window problem

Sometimes when I use auto-up the window closes and then goes back down half way. It won't go up again unless it goes down first.  The standard reset procedure usually fixes the problem right away but why is this happening in the first place? Do I need to adjust or replace something?

I believe the window seal at the top gets swollen and needs to be replaced.

This is a fairly common complaint. Others have reported good success simply cleaning the window channels. That would be a good (and inexpensive) place to start.

We see this problem all the time at the dealer, especially with smokers.

The window run gets dirty. I soak a rag in brake clean and use a flat head screw driver to clean the channel. Sometimes I have to put so.e lube on the window run.
