JoeInOregon
As expected all the vacuum hoses on the underside of my intake manifold are petrified and cracking in half. In my attempt to remove this on it snapped the nipple right off. I wonder how sensitive this port is to diameter , was hoping I could just tap or epoxy a new nipple on. whitexc
Does that whole piece possibly come out of the intake....maybe replace it? If not, I would find a male barbed fitting that you could thread in there and put some epoxy on it (not a lot) right before you send it. kzr750r1
That port should not have a bother with slightly different size. You can likely get some brass or stainless hardline and epoxy it in there. I would get something slightly larger than the hole ID. Drill in a step. start seating the hard line... Schmoo on some epoxy or JBweld then press the rest of the way. Max Capacity
I'm wondering why you couldn't T the hose into another hose, and plug that broken nipple. There is a picture of the vacuum hose set up here some where, it's also in the back of the service manual. http://people.csail.mit.edu/ilh/vacation/ Edited March 4, 2022 by Max Capacity 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Also what I did notice is that port is connected to a "straw' that terminates about dead center inside of the manifold. I will get a pic tomorrow when I'm near the car. JoeInOregon
This is a shot of the other end of the nipple in question Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
bergs
I broke that same fitting on an 05 I used to own. Long story short I bought a replacement intake manifold from a member here.
All_talk
I suspect the position of that "straw" is somewhat important in distributing the fuel vapor equally to all cylinders, teeing into another line may not. I'm also guessing that the small diameter of the straw works as an orifice to control flow at cruise vacuum (high), when the solenoid is open. I would try and repair the nipple at that location, or look for a good used manifold.
