herbiejonesiv
Hi All, Been lurking on this forum for the time that I have been building my 09 obxt. Justbot th engine back in and all the fluids, and what not. Now when I go to turn the engine over the starter doesn't engage at all. Everything in the engine has been replaces so I would be remiss if I thought that it was a bad starter. What else ould it be? The car is not in test mode, I believe everything is connected as it should be. Not sure what to do next. I appreciate any help!
Max Capacity
Did you hook up the small wire to the starter ? Go back over all connections, you most likely missed one. May be walk away, get a bite to eat and come back and look again. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Engine Build - Click Here
dwmccauley01
Do you just hear a single click or no sounds at all? My starter wouldn't do anything at one point and I used a jumper cable once to bypass the starter solenoid and all has been well since. blackobxt
Do you have a bunch of weird codes? If the starter circuit is engaged but the engine doesn’t crank it will throw cam and crank sensor codes. That will at least confirm the ecu is looking at the motor. dgoodhue
Check your grounds as well, those are easily enough to miss.
herbiejonesiv
Thanks all for the help. Figured out it was a few loose connections. I got it running and now I'm onto the next few issues.
Max Capacity
Glad it was a simple fix, that's pretty much normal. Next few issues....would they be leaks ? 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. I have either the traction control light or VDC light on that I can't figure out.
