BILL02LGT
Have a '02 LGT Limited, the headlights are pitiful... any suggestions? What are the chances of the '05 bumper etc. fitting the '02?
TSiWRX
Is your headlamp lens cloudy or yellowed? If so, you'll want to restore that, first, as it can be robbing you of quite a bit of light output. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
BILL02LGT
Yes, the lenses are clean and clear. Thanks
TSiWRX
Hum.....Doh! OK, next step - What are you trying to improve? Foul-weather/curbside/foreground illumination? Or are you looking to get better distance vision for unlit, less-traveled roads? <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
HFSDevil
Here is what I did with mine.... http://home.comcast.net/~samur_devil/lights.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~samur_devil/lights6.jpg Put them in the oven for 5 mins at 250 degrees. Took the garnish piece out, scuffed it, painted it with just gloss black spray paint, and reassembled. 2002 Subaru Legacy L (Retired) 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT
BILL02LGT
All of the above would be great but much improved high-beams would suffice for now.

nKoan
Try new bulbs if light output sucks. And no, the 05 front end probably won't fit without a lot of work. The car has gone over a majore revision since 02.

BILL02LGT
I have already swapped out the low beams twice, and I figured the '05 bumper would not fit (one could hope though). Thanks
TSiWRX
To supplement highs, I've found it most worthwhile to simply bite the bullet, and go with an aftermarket set of proper "driving lamps." With a true "driving" pattern, combined with proper aim, driving lamps are true companions for high-beams, allowing you to see clearly at greater distances. The compromise you'll have to make, though, is to be extra-courteous to your fellow drivers, and to be on the look-out so that you can properly dim your brights and switch off your driving lamps when you have oncoming traffic or if there are others who are in your lane within range. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
BILL02LGT
This is what I had concluded, the courtesy of dimming is not an issue (I intend to relay-wire the driving lamps to the highbeams). Thanks for the info
Aczwild
Guess its time I post... I had the same issue, so I solved it the way you'd like to http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Aczwild/DSC00832.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Aczwild/DSC00810.jpg Only problem now is, I have so much electric shiat on and in this car that when I have the lights on for about 2 mins, then I turn them off, the lows are so dim, you feel like you are driving with none on. I gotta pick up a Yellow top Optima and a higher output alternator soon (if anyone knows where to get one on the cheapy, let me know...) JDM'd All to hell Thanks Jimmy @ Hkc-Speed.com! BILL02LGT
The 2002 Legacy has a 90 amp alternator on it... the high output ones are 140 amp but really pricey (~$500)
