rao
Eddy, was the 12.1 run on pump gas? Glad to hear Jorge's car is running well (it is an automatic WRX wagon) Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
SUBE555
I wish I could have made it down for the Midwest Shootout at Byron. :( Was making OT at work, but I'll be curvin around cones next weekend. :D I guess all that matters right now is that you had fun. Maybe I can make it down for next year's event. I think with some toying around with launch techniques, you may be able to get some more out of it. Did you ice the IC prior to running? Jorge running a 12.1, hmm, that doesn't sound like your normal pump gas. Must be 94+. Still, that's a NICE time! When's the little one coming again Eddy? Gotta be closing on the date. Oh wait, that's right, DOUBLE trouble!
cc-b
Yup, a boy and a girl. Due date is december 25th, but I'm sure they'll make their appearance sooner than that. It's gonna get pretty cramped in there. The car is already being dubbed "the babywagon". That's fine with me as long a I can still make it across a quarter mile in about 13 seconds with two baby seats in the back. :) I didn't do anything prior to the runs, just got in and went. Since this was the first time ever I launched with an automatic I am pretty sure there is room for improvement left getting off the line. I also didn't experiment with the sport shift, just planted my foot to the floor for 15 seconds. There's no doubt that there is more in this car in stock condition, I just couldn't use it to it's full potential. The only "modification" I did was run a few tanks of 100+ octane in a row in the days leading up to saturday. That made a difference, but more in the midrange than anything else. SUBE555
Have Jorge take it out if he's good with those Auto launches as it appears he is. I know he's the MW tuning guru. :D Hmm, this looks like Eddy's Wagon on the right... Here too... cc-b
yup, that would be me :D and before anyone asks: no, the track does not run down hill... it just looks that way, especially in pictures....
SUBE555
Many drag strips use a sort of contouring like that to help some with deceleration. WIR up here has an even longer run-off I believe because they do run some jet drags and other high-output machines and like the extra safety. It's basically an old motorplex. BTW, nice color Eddy. ;) I really need to make it down for a Borders meet in the next few weeks.
