Chocoholic005
Could be a broken shift fork; 3rd and 4th are on the same fork and could explain it. Does it feel different when you shift into those gear slots? The gate should still be there, but you could have less resistance into and out of gear. Max Capacity
Yeah, I'll guess broken shift fork. Had the same problem back in late 1970's in a Chrysler 4-speed. Pulled the side cover, replaced the aluminum forks with brass ones I got from a buddy. Traded him a fiberglass seat for them. Things were so much easier back then... 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Max Capacity
I wouldn't know if the JDM forks are the same as USDM. You might reach out to https://avoturboworld.com/ Or one of the larger Vendors here, may be Rally Sport Direct, etc. Or the guys at PPG https://www.ppgearbox.com/product-page/suabru-1st-4th-drag-gear-set-v2 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
