KiwiBR9
Hey team, I've got a bit favor to ask. I have been looking for an aftermarket grill for a while but couldn't find anything in Japan that wasn't going to be worth more than my car. I hit up a guy for two sample products: One matte black FRP and one carbon fiber. Just got them in hand today and want you guys to rip them apart and tell me what you'd pay for them. They're for the JDM A-C type 5th gens he can also make the D type (USDM) grills if you're interested. Anyway have a look and let me know what you think. https://imgur.com/a/VbLXKJh Eion
FLlegacy
Both look pretty nice, somewhere between a good diy and a mass produced piece. Most of us are based in the USA so they would be worthless except to a couple people who've done a JDM front end swap, you should try the Australian liberty forums probably will find more comparable products there. KiwiBR9
Cheers mate. Yeah, posted on the Liberty forums too! Not looking to sell just ideas, like you gave me. I'd completely agree its kind of missing those finishing touches. Thanks again.
Humble Rumble
For what it's worth, JDM/Aus D-type grille is not the same as USDM D-type, despite how similar they look. The issue is still the shape of the hood affecting the non-fitment between the two, so no one with USDM could make use of anything you'll be able to make, unless you plan to import USDM grilles to use. 2012 Legacy 3.6R Build Thread 5th Gen Legacy BM/BR Body Kit Compendium Thread
Scubaboo
Looks nice! I see a few grilles on crooober and yahoo auctions, but shipping is pretty dear!
Scubaboo
I prefer the OEM version, one thing that distinguishes the OEM mesh grill is that the mesh portion actually follows the lines of the hood instead of being just flat. It's a subtle but very nice detail.
Falcor
Learned something new today. That's cool about the mesh not being flat. And it kinda bugs me more now that Subaru didn't offer it in the US.
