SIDrive
Following https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/remove-all-banjo-filters-222758.html Took off the metal bracket that connects the up pipe to the block. I do not see anything that looks like the other banjo bolts. The yellow rectangle is where the bolt was that holds the bracket and the red rectangle is what looks like where the banjo bolt should be. Is that correct? ryguy32789
Here is the video I used as a guide for my 05, it's by far the best tutorial I came across. But yeah, yours does not look like mine does.
Max Capacity
07-09's have the bolts up top in the first photo in the thread you linked from corvetrussian. That bolt he pulled out is the one your looking for. https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2834394 if that link doesn't work search for Banjo bolts on 2009 WRX, there is a picture that shows where they are on the different years and models. I just tried the link and it works. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. SIDrive
Cool. Thanks guys. Makes sense and I can see it on the car now. I removed every banjo bolt except this one under the air intake and the one in front of the timing cover. No filters. Does the one under the air intake definitely have a filter? This whole job started because I got P0011 and p0021 at the same time. Max Capacity
When I got those codes, my turbo lasted about a 1000miles. I got lucky. Listen to your turbo, if the sounds changes replace it ASAP. I still have that filter that was remove in my desk here at some 10 years later. The machine shop removed the front banjo filter when they reassembled the new short block in May 2012. They did call and ask me if I want it removed. here's the turbo thread, https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/142-000-miles-oem-turbo-168561.html Edited March 2, 2020 by Max Capacity 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. SIDrive
I have not driven the car since this happened. Going to remove the filter from under the air intake this weekend. Can I get the crush washers locally? They look bigger than brake banjo bolt crush washers. Anybody have the part #?
