Jacobpockros Posted October 31, 2019 Share Posted October 31, 2019 Do the dowel pins on the EJ251 (that align the head gasket and head) hit bottom & stop halfway through when you drive new ones in or can they go too far if you’re not careful? Max Capacity Posted October 31, 2019 Share Posted October 31, 2019 I'm going to assume they bottom out in the hole. Think about it. They are not going to measure every up they put in at the factory. Call your local auto parts store and ask them. Ask the machine shop that rebuilt your heads. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).
