awfulwaffle
Anyone ever record high frequency fuel pressure traces? Been chasing a bit of a leanout issue up top while tuning the car with Cryo, and got my pocket scope on the transducer again tonight, with the timebase cranked down to see individual injector pulses. We'll see what Dave says, but thought you good folks might have some experience to share too. Seeing crazy pressure fluctuations at the injector pulse frequency, trying to see if it might make sense that the injectors sinking fuel could be responsible, since the average pressure about which the oscillation occurs is right where the FPR setpoint should be. I'm talking a 37-75 psi peak to peak oscillation at 13 psi boost, see attached trace. Thanks! Edited October 24, 2019 by awfulwaffle
awfulwaffle
Answer to the question is a hard nope. Got my sender on a friend's LGT, very smooth fuel pressure. Time for more diagnostics!
awfulwaffle
Tracked the issue down to the 06 WRX rails I used in topfeed conversion. Apparently, having the FPR mounted directly on top of the #1 injector is no bueno for fuel pressure stability.
rhino6303
That is very interesting. I wonder if it is the same with the regulator on the rails between cylinders 2 and 4. My oem top feed conversion has the regulator there.
