Northern1
Right at the inlet I have rust all around. Is there a coating I can do or do I have to replace the spout entirely? Just want to avoid any more rust particles potentially getting into the gas tank.
Brighton96
If it's part of the filler neck then you'll have to replace it, if it's the flange around the neck then you can replace just that part. Those filler necks are known to rust out and leak so aftermarket parts are available
Northern1
Pretty sure it's the flange but I don't see them sold separately. I did find a few filler necks that are not that expensive. Anyone know the labour time to replace?
Brighton96
It took me a couple hours to do that job with no experience and limited tools in a driveway, so maybe 2 hours from a professional shop? It's like 8 bolts, and 3 hose clamps to remove it.
