Jolbaru_LGT
So, I'm hooking up a double DIN radio, and I've got everything connected where it should be, except for the i-88 harness. I did get the approved JDM setup and D.Carter wiring harnesses. But on the I-88 climate control adapter, I noticed that it has a red power wire. I don't really want to splice into the harness wire that's going to my aftermarket Alpine unit. Should I run a wire from the fuse box to that connection? I see eBay offers gadgets like this. Is it a good idea? If so, which fuse slot would I use? Edited September 15, 2019 by Jolbaru_LGT
Jolbaru_LGT
Or can you do a 3 way butt connector like this inline where the aftermarket(Alpine) wiring harness connects the red(12v) power wire and split off the power to the climate control via the I-88 connector? I may be in the wrong area, this might be more of an aftermarket audio forum question.. Edited September 15, 2019 by Jolbaru_LGT
Kazsmir
I just wired mine in with the factory harness and 14 pin adapter from SVXDC; red, to red, to red, and done.
Ninjacheezit
I just wired mine in with the factory harness and 14 pin adapter from SVXDC; red, to red, to red, and done. Same my climate control and headunits red wire connects to the same red wire on my adapter. Simple and done. No need to make it harder.
GearJamr
I soldered my power wires together. No need to splice into anything.
