KapitanRedbeard
I just purchased a 2006 Legacy GT and had a 2 hour drive home in which I noticed the seats were absolutely terrible. After 2 hours my back hurt and I was uncomfortable. Is this a common problem or are my seats just trash? I haven't had this issue with any other Subaru I've been in. Probably going to have to replace them asap so if anyone has some decent budget recommendations I'd love to hear them.
Wasted Potential
Check the lumbar. I have back issues and have to max it out, these vehicles are often pretty comfortable to me... now, if only I could get more lumbar, or more heat specifically there! Merc6
Which ones? I had cloth, leather and alcantara in my 05. Alcantara were the worst for me. The current limited leather seats feel soft even in comparison to my Accord Sport split leather and cloth seats. What car are you coming out of? If you say 90's Buick or some sort of Towncar then that's why. No seats feel like that anymore even in Buick or Lincoln. Other thing is how do you position your seat and wheel? 2005 Satin White Pearl Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Unlimited 5EAT (Project Car) 2019 Agate Black Ford Explorer XLT 4WD (DD)
KapitanRedbeard
Leather seats. I'm coming out of a 2015 Forester w/ cloth seats. After reading some other posts and fiddling with my seat it's 100% broken. The front bottom won't go up or down and lumbar isn't adjustable(not totally sure if it should be or not). I guess the question now is do I try and find the stock seats to replace my seat or go aftermarket. I wont really be able to figure out fixing my seat until this weekend. My biggest issue though is the bottom feels like heavy duty cardboard over springs and the back feels like cardboard over straw. Driving position is pretty upright and far enough back that if I stretch my arms out my wrists rest on the wheel.
Merc6
If you look for a replacement you should be fine drivers seat wise. Passenger seat is just about year specific enough you have to reuse the original passenger seat connections and sensors. 2005 Satin White Pearl Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Unlimited 5EAT (Project Car) 2019 Agate Black Ford Explorer XLT 4WD (DD)
sshole
That's quite a surprise. I find my 2015 Forester 2.5i Premium seats to be fairly crap. You sit *on* them, not in them. My 2008 Spec B has seats that I'd rate about equal to my 2013 BRZ seats.
covertrussian
I had issues with my LGT's leather seats or my friends cloth seats at first, but after a few months of driving either my back adjusted or I broke them in, and now I don't mind them at all. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK

05LegacyGTGa
I have leather in mine and it has started to squeak a lot somewhere. Is there a spot on these that gets loose over time? It's starting to get annoying!

Infosecdad
My '05 LGT seats are quite comfortable for me. Many 10+ hour drives in them. Though the '04 WRX seats are my favorite that I had in my '01 2.5 RS, they just won't even come close to matching my LGT interior...

sshole
You might be able to get them to plump back to shape with steam. Or take it to an upholstery shop to see if there's anything they can do.
aj_mariner
Ah man I was hoping quicker It might happen quicker if it wasn’t that heavy. The kids seat was strapped down pretty tight. Started putting a thick towel under it so it wasn’t as depressed in the two spots.
1-3-2-4
It was only like 5 qts of oil sitting in the oil drain pan the 4 dimples on the seat drive me nuts. I did have my old radiator sitting on top of the pan however.

I rode/drove my friends same year same color LGT with cloth seats a few times before I got mine, when mine kept breaking, and when he borrowed my other car. His was like that 1 car they give you in the beginning of a NFS game where you race then they make you buy a somewhat stock car after that 1st race. Mine was slow because stock turbo and the tune sucked. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/LGT/th_Picture453.jpg ...Fast forward to relevancy of the post... After he swapped to 06 Limited leather I came across some hard times. Ended up swapping my entire interior from his to mine and getting some cash out of it. 06 Limited leather felt better than the 07 Shrek B seats and gave my car a custom 2 tone look. The fun of 06 passenger seats in an 05 became fun. Ended up finding the 05 Limited seat to replace the 06 one. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/LGT/th_B8DE8871-26EB-416B-A9DE-BB5461DC9C10_zpslnaxgdqk.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/LGT/th_67329382.jpg I figure I'll look around on craigstlist to see if there are any 06 parts cars in my area. I got mine from a shop called Pams Auto. They only delver by freight so I had to take a Neil Zurker's One Tank Trip to the FedEx hub to tear the boxes down and shove it into the back seat of my LGT. Looking back i would have taped off the seat rails so they didn't scratch the interior up. I padded and reused some of the box but not enough. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k280/merc6/LGT/th_B604015F-28C1-433E-8970-F694CBC8FB77_zpsb56ojarp.jpg a year or two of leather conditioner every 4 months. Had the same thing happen with the kid seat. Thought they were lost forever The original owner had kids and put tires back there so it took a few years to get the tire rings and some stains out. warm days and patience is key. The Accord rear seat is starting to take shape so I usually take the seats out when the kids aren't back there. 2005 Satin White Pearl Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Unlimited 5EAT (Project Car) 2019 Agate Black Ford Explorer XLT 4WD (DD)
