BLBostonLegacy
I have a 2005 2.5i, Auto, My gas mileage this past few weeks has gone from high 20s, 25+ down to 14.7 is where I’m sitting at now. I’ve been using the same gas at the same gas station nothing has been changed there is no drivability issues, plugs wires were done less than a year ago, new air filter, oil change, try throttle body relearn...any ideas? As well as my driving habits and places I drive to are pretty much consistent. No funky smells, no discolored exhaust, no check engine light or pending codes.
DugsSin
Colder weather has arrived how are you tire pressures ? Winter blend gas would be some of it but that MPG is really low.
ammcinnis
I can't help, but you might have more luck in the Gen 4 Legacy subforum. I am moving the thread there. Wasted Potential
Where are you getting your actual MPG reading from? Calculated or off gauge.
bergs
Things that come to mind are to check are tire pressures, binding or seized brake caliper, e-brake engaged or not fully releasing. Cold weather is moving in but a 10mpg reduction is not normal.

Marvick08GT
If you put it in neutral and coast, you can see if anything is causing an issue. I've seen carrier bearings cause this too. If you can coast and MPH stays about the same (manual) everything should be good. If not, its time to get it up and check each wheel individually. ehsnils
If it's a wheel dragging then you should get excessive heat from it. A moderate drive, then stop and feel how warm each wheel hub is, try to slow down using the brakes as little as possible when coming to a stop. JmP6889928
O2 sensor. Can go bad without setting CEL. I would check front O2 and try a known good one to see if it helps.
