smithy96 Posted August 13, 2017 Share Posted August 13, 2017 hey i have a 2004 legacy with a bpe classis h6 engine and 6 speed manual tans. just needed to check that i have the 6mt gear box if any one can shed some light. according to wiki they started using them on a 2007 spec b but mine isn't that. is there some where on the gear box that will tell me? rougeben83 Posted August 15, 2017 Share Posted August 15, 2017 There's a serial no. label on the left side bellhousing on the front. If all else fails, you can use that to look up your transmission specs. That being said, there's a very high chance your 6spd is just like the Spec. B and STI 6 spd we get in the US. There is a newer 6 spd design that first came out with the BM/BR Legacy and in newer WRX's - it's basically an upgraded 5spd (similar case design and internals).
