Just picked up a 2005 Outback, what are some beginner mods I can do to add power?

The car has 115k, 5MT, and it doesn't have a turbo. I was wondering what are some easy mods I can do to add a little bit of power, or overall what are some mods I should do?

None. There are no mods to add power. None. Nothing you would ever notice. You can buy a turbo kit for a few thousand and add maybe 25hp.

 

You have an outback. Convert it to a camping monster. Lift it, rack it, knobbs, flaps, and mounted turrets.

 

Or if you want power you have to buy a car that has power to start with.

headers and exhaust i would think would give you nice sound and a LITTLE more power...

... or lower it, sway bars and some other handling bits. The outback/legacy platform can be made to handle very well.

Tires, brakes, wheels, suspension. In that order.

 

The brakes on the OB's are pretty undersized for the weight of the car IMHO. Get some Legacy GT brakes on there and get 17" wheels if you didn't already have them on.
