THE RZA
I recently bought a 2005 legacy 2.5i for cheap off craigslist with 191k on the clock. I had a buddy of mine at a subaru dealership pull a carfax report for me on the car, it's been well maintained through the years but given that it's now a 12 year old car with high mileage, it needs a little TLC to be a reliable daily driver for more years to come, I need to source some parts and was wondering where I could find them for cheap. For now it looks like I need: -Rear wheel bearings (they currently whine but the car doesn't vibrate or shake, but they will need to be replaced, top priority) -New Serpentine belt -New A/C Belt -New driver side power window switch assembly (all 3 passenger windows go down, but the driver side doesn't and the switch is busted) -given the miles, Timing belt/water pump should be coming up soon -Passenger side tail light housing (low priority) -New trunk springs (low priority) any clue as to sites I can find these from? GEE-OTTO
Bearings: TIMKEN or MOOG --> http://www.rockauto.com Belts: DAYCO from your local auto parts store The other items: use http://www.car-part.com or similar "pic a part" site or better yet the Part Out Section on these forums and find a junked 05-09 Legacy. Youre in NJ there are some ripe salvage yards in that area given the horrific driving among the TriSate folks Nice find with a little TLC you'll have a good complement to your WRX
DonnyJagaru
Second the motion on Rock Auto. I just replaced a RWB on mine @ 118k miles, I guess yours is into its second set. FWIW, friend has same car with same miles as you and never had to do FWB. Go figure.

I already noticed from one week of driving this I only need to fill it once a week and it's good to go. Also it's a limited and somehow it's a lot more comfortable to drive than my WRX limited is WRX will forever be my fun car, it just doesn't need to be driven 600 miles a week! THE RZA
It's pretty comfortable to drive which makes me happy with my commute. I'm also not complaining about the gas mileage either lol. I'm getting 35 mpg (all highway driving) vs. 28 at best in my WRX which did all mixed driving. 87 is also .60/gal less than 93 is. It's the best of both worlds, my old 2.5i was pretty good to drive around in, this one is a fully loaded limited vs. what my bare boned 2.5i had. Now I get to enjoy my WRX as a fun weekend car and preserve the life of it for a while.
