fishingbuk
Will the winter time temps increase power because of running cooler? I have heard that the car will run stronger because it is colder and drier outside during the winter months. I am up in Maine and it is starting to get colder. Should I reset the ECU to make the most HP possible? Thanks, BUK
rao
No to the ECU reset. Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
rallispec
The colder tempuratures do increase horsepower - however due to emmissions being worse in cold weather, gas companies use a different mixture in the colder months which can offset some of those gains. Do not reset your ECU, let it adapt on it's own.
GraysonSubaru
Rallispec, in your avatar, was that picture taken with the headlights on and you were adjusting the interior light brightness or was it taken with the headlights off and it would flash between that and the trip meter? Mine did it the other day with the lights off and they are replacing some switch to correct it. they said that they have had a couple LGT's come in with that going bad (or gone bad). D-2.5-GT
I reset the ECU every now and again. It certainly feels stronger afterwards. There's not really any downside to it other than having to reprogram the seatbelt and radio stuff.
