SactoPete
Howdy, I have a 2006 LGT sedan that just this season (it's been very rainy here in northern california) has developed a nasty leak in the trunk. Opened it up today after sitting a month and the spare tire area was half full of water, and there was mold everywhere. Yuck. I suspect that the rubber seal around the trunk is leaking, and as I looked at it there was a tremendous amount of dirt and debris in the gutter between the rear window and the seal. Wondering if this is typical and I just need the seal replaced, or if something is generally weird here... the car was hit about 5 years ago and had some repair in back, new trunk lid, straighten some stuff, etc. Did the body shop forget to replace something or otherwise mess up? The joint at the window looks... unfinished? Here are some pics for reference (note I cleaned up the dirt and debris a bit, but there's still a bunch really wedged in there still). http://i1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa400/sactopete/image1.jpg http://i1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa400/sactopete/image3.jpg http://i1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa400/sactopete/image2.jpg
magnusonsubie
Those seals you have pictured all look good. I would suspect the taillight gaskets as being a possibility for leaking. 2005 Vader Wagon Material Tests on Ringland Failure Piston I should have held off and purchased a wagon instead of the spec.B
SactoPete
Those seals you have pictured all look good. I would suspect the taillight gaskets as being a possibility for leaking. Took a look at the tail light area inside and out and everything looks dry and tight there.... Does everyone get that much dirt in the channel under the rear glass? Is there anything missing there? It almost looks like there should be a gasket or something on the base of the glass, as it is now everything coming off that glass goes in the gap? KRM
Everything looks good except all the crud build up. I'm giving it a guess that you just might need to get it all cleaned up and replace the trunk seal.
