Wheeeeeeel specssss

Recommended Posts

So I'm rolling on 17s right now with 45 sidewall on the tires 25a75cdf7247bcae55562f892cac96a6.jpg my friend let me borrow some 18s and he has 40 sidewall 07d6b6985d575479c31177c09273e6a2.jpg wondering if anybody is lowered sitting on some 19s I'm trying to decide if I'm going to do 18s or 19s just not sure if 19s are going to be too big.

Also if you post any pictures let me know your tire specs too please :)

P.s. I want to bag my car in the future just in case that helps anyone with a suggestion

Not sure if he's active on here anymore (sold the car), but you may be interested in taking a look at DC_Titus' build thread: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/dc-titus-2-5i-build-thread-243244.html?t=243244

He was bagged and had 19" wheels, so there might be some overlap between what he did and what you're looking to do.

Using 8" width and +40 offset as an example, the difference in overall tire diameter between 17"/45 and 18"/40 is less than 2 mm difference, so for all intents and purposes, they'll fit almost exactly the same. If you wanted to move up to 19, to keep the same fit you'd likely need a 35 sidewall, and the total diameter difference between 17"/45 and 19"/35 would still only be about 4 mm difference. So although the driving experience would be quite a bit different (much harsher on the 19's), the fit should be close enough to work.

Here's the example specs I used to get that info:

17x8 +40 on 235/45/17 vs 18x8 +40 on 235/40/18: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=235&aspect=45&diameter=17&wheelwidth=8&offset=40&width2=235&aspect2=40&wheel_size=18&wheel_width=8&offset2=40

17x8 +40 on 235/45/17 vs 19x8 +40 on 235/35/19: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=235&aspect=45&diameter=17&wheelwidth=8&offset=40&width2=235&aspect2=35&wheel_size=19&wheel_width=8&offset2=40
