supercow2610
Hi. I have a set of 2011 WRX 17x8 ET53 wheels. trying to get some rubbers on it. I have a '10 legacy. Do I need to get spacers? I saw some members with the wheel but not sure about fitments. I have stock suspension. OEM specs for 17" is 17x7. Thanks
FLlegacy
2011 is still 5x100 for the wrx. This wheels should bolt right on, the extra width is to the outside of the wheel since the backspace is almost stock. dgoodhue
I have them on my car. They fit fine and fit closer to flush than any of the stock wheels. The stock WRX sized 235/45-17 tires look out of place on the stock height suspension (and I am not one who usually care about wheel gaps.) In the picture below my car has 1 1/4" lower springs. It probably could use taller tires. http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa177/sytydave/Subaru%20Legacy/A94D9E20-CCE5-4B04-B4C9-C6E97E4A95E3_zpsggnkyg4b.jpg

Disregard the tire info below, the wheel info is what is pertinent. OP, the new wider wheel will sit much more inboard than outboard, but will still clear Legacy suspension as dgoodhue has shown in his pic. http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=225&aspect=50&diameter=17&wheelwidth=7&offset=48&width2=235&aspect2=45&wheel_size=17&wheel_width=8&offset2=53 GTEASER's 2012 Legacy GT - Sold GTEASER's 2009 XTeaser - Sold GTEASER's 1992 Legacy SS - Sold

supercow2610
I am confusing offset and backspacing......its time for bed! Thanks Gteaser As promisee, here is how the 225/50-17 sits with the wrx wheels The color and fitment really compliments the steel silver. Obviously it doesnt completely remove the ugly wheel gap but reduce it to a more pleasant level. I dont think id want to lower the car since its my daily driver and its rather harsh over bumps n pothole in long trips. 225 width is a definite upgrade from the wimpy 205 or 215. The car is much more agile around corners, high speed and dodging potholes (yes, its a thing). 50 profile is just right for comfort and handling. But i also upgrade rsb to 20mm and kyb shocks. Ill try to get daytime photo n upload. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll20/Long_Tran_Phan/IMG_20170214_185750_zps4erjsnvs.jpg

Does the 225/50-17 tire look in anyway stretched on the 17"x8" rim?

foxrider28
225mm > 203.2mm (8") so it shouldn't look stretched [emoji13]

GhiaAddict
This is my '12 3.6R on Eibach/KYB with WRX 17x8 +53 with 20mm F and 25mm B2Designs hubcentric spacers wrapped with 245/45/17 400AAA Achilles ATR Sport 2 tires. Super square setup. Meaty look, does help filling wheel well considering the low drop with Eibachs. I technically have 5mm staggered setup lol. It does make both F/R flush with fenders. I can't wait till I get her all washed and shined up tomorrow, if my 15 month old takes her morning nap.
