VF40 CHRA replacement question

Recommended Posts

With the issues that people have on the intercooler end tanks cracking or pulling apart from the cores, you probably want to align that as best you can. You could tighten the screws finger tight first, put the turbo on the up-pipe with a couple of nuts to locate it. Then install the intercooler into the TB hose and adjust the compressor cover angle so it best meets the intercooler flange. That way you put the least stress on things.
Obligatory 'build thread' Increased capacity to 2.7 liters, still turbo, but no longer need spark plugs.

This is what I ended up doing, I scored the back of the chra plate and compressor housing after a dry fit, took the turbo off and sealed up the compressor housing. Everything seemed to line up well.

Thanks for the confirmation!

You loosen the bolts holding the clamps on the housing and rotate the housing as needed.
