Randomguy
Hi guys, I have a weird situation that I am hoping someone can help with. I have a 2005 Outback, and the rear door (driver's side) wouldn't open from the outside. Opening from the inside was no problem. I pull the panel off and see that a plastic bit is broken and decide to replace after a half-considered attempt to epoxy back together fails I decide to tackle this today and get a new exterior door handle assembly and pop it in no problem. I wasn't thinking and decided to try it out with the panel on and popped it back in and shut the door without reattaching the cables that release the door and open it from the inside. Oops. Now the door won't open at all from the inside or outside, and I am not sure was the solution is. Any ideas?
steelbluesleepr
I believe your only option is to do the ridiculous task of removing the door panel without opening the door. that's going to really suck.
stevenva
I read somewhere of another person who did the same thing you did. He wound up having some body shop guys get the panel off by first removing the back seat RIP 96 Legacy 2.2 4EAT lost reverse @ 374,000 miles
