rougeben83
Closed the hatch last night and the rear light and dash indicator stayed on. Its annoying to see while I drive. I looked into it earlier today and found the plug for the switch behind the access panel. Unplugging it only turns off the indicator when the hatch is open, but when I close the hatch, the indicator comes back on as open...wtf? I measured the voltage on the pins and it looks like one reads +12V and the other is ground. Any ideas on how to bypass the rear hatch switch? DonnyJagaru
Isn't this model notorious for wires in the umbilical wearing out/corroding? Guessing the problem is in there somewhere.
rougeben83
FYI Issue seems to be solved for now. Went into the wiring harness boot on the passenger side of the top of the hatch, I pulled the whole loom out, noticed the electrical tape that was keeping the harness together had come loose, did not think much of it and wrapped the wiring back up and replaced the rubber boot. The hatch indicator is working again. I went back and double wrapped that area with more electrical tape (both ends of the rubber boot).
