bigboy292000
Is there some sort of trick, a secret tool or arcane knowledge that I have to get, to be able to take some of the interior trim clips off? I'm trying to 'unbutton' the clips for trim under the glove box area, because I'm bringing in the wire from the backup camera (and want to tap into the reverse signal wire). I can see the clips and the only thing I can think of is try to pull them straight out. But clips have different ideas... How do you do this? GTEASER
Do you have a set of these plastic interior trim tools? They work great and are cheap. http://www.ebay.com/itm/4pcs-Set-Car-Panel-Trim-Audio-Stereo-Dash-Refit-Molding-Remove-Install-Pry-Tools-/191216468120?hash=item2c8563c098:g:Zr4AAOSwoQ1Tnr6S&vxp=mtr GTEASER's 2012 Legacy GT - Sold GTEASER's 2009 XTeaser - Sold GTEASER's 1992 Legacy SS - Sold
Humble Rumble
^The forum is doing something funky to that link for me. I can see it's an ebay link for a split second (and click on it if I'm quick enough), but once the page loads, it changes to a broken amazon link. 2012 Legacy 3.6R Build Thread 5th Gen Legacy BM/BR Body Kit Compendium Thread

bigboy292000
Thanks! As usual - if something seems too hard, it is because you don't have the right tool for it. Bought a set of trim removal tools; should be here on Wednesday. Just in time for the weekend for the big install!
FLlegacy
Couldn't you just tap into the reverse wires in the trunk area?
bigboy292000
Couldn't you just tap into the reverse wires in the trunk area? Technically, I could have done that, sure... but I figured that rather than splicing into the wires for the camera in the back and as I still need to run the camera wire all the way to the front, I'll just get the signal from the front passenger foot well (as ae64 site suggests). So really I want to be taking some clips / trim off anyway when I do the install of the HU (to make sure that I tie the camera wires properly with zip ties and I get no rattles) so one way or the other, I have to deal with crazy clips.
