Axis Reverb Wheels on XT

These are the Axis Reverbs in 18x8.5 with 35mm offset with 245/45/18 S-03 on them. I plan to go to 255/40/18 next which is pushing it on a 8.5" rim.

SSR comps at 51mm would not clear my suspension - now lots of room.

They are fine on my XT and clear every thing but I expect they would not fit on a GT.

Ignor the front wheel clearance - there is no motor in the car so it is a lot higher than normal.

Road race time trials [ or just HPDE for fun ] and a drag run or two to get my 11.5 sec et.

I was hoping to do the NASA HPDE at Lime Rock a month from today but there is really too much left to do on the car. I want to do a sub 1 minute lap in an Outback - but that is probably beyound my driving skill.

Wow. Sweet!

You wouldn't wanna show off the puny stock brake rotors with those though. Looks nice all together.

Hard to do in the shop lots of stuff in the way - with no motor does not go very far.

Next month all will finally be together. It has only been living in shops since last January.

Crawford will ship 2.8l sometime next week and the Kelford cams are do in so all the goodies will be here to start assembly week after next. There are a few surprise parts also.

I think 255/40/18 are the recomended max for an 8.5" wide rim in most tires ?

I did have the 245 on 7.5" wide rims to start with and that was pushing it.

Also any bigger and they will really hang out.

I was thinking about 10 in wide rims and 295's if 255 are not big enough.

It will be a month or two - under the hood is nothing now - new engine ships in a week or so.

Keefe we did clearance math wrong - 51 -36 = 16mm - [ .5"/2x25.4 ] 6 = ~10 mm difference

The SSR comps were 8" wide and the Axis 8.5" wide rims.

what are the details on that Stoptech kit?

Ted

Tell us about the brakes. Are the fronts Stoptechs for the WRX since that seems to be the same size as for the OB? Are you running braided lines designed for the Legacy or WRX or custom made?

They are the Stoptech LGT/XT kit with lines - they were $4695 .

Charles, I bet with all this in there, and it being in the shop so long, you are itching to get it out on the street and see what it can do.

I for one have been patiently awating the final results. The ultimate OBXT is in your hands!!!

:D

285s with 10" wide is a better fit.
