CDKJudoka
One my way to work, my 05 OBW decided that it no longer wanted to hold oil. With plumes of smoke behind me, I determined that the rear main seal took a shit, and was puking 5W30 on itself and the street. After speaking with my wife, she gave me the go ahead to pick up a new vehicle. So I drive the smoking heap of a beast to the stealership, and worked on trading it in. I drove away in a CPO Legacy 2.5i 6M. It definitely needs wheels and maybe some tint, but other than that, I will probably leave it stock. http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n79/DarkPhoenixTSi/Legacy/13510969_10154341889883653_8326423409198897580_n_zpslakjrdg6.jpg http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n79/DarkPhoenixTSi/Legacy/13511028_10154341889823653_5917490240630682128_n_zpsw9qpvceq.jpg http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n79/DarkPhoenixTSi/Legacy/13566927_10154341889933653_4115036445235049677_n_zpsi2u8pgwv.jpg 2014 Legacy 2.5i 6M - FB25 w/ a 6 speed 2002 Impreza 2.5TS - EJ251 w/ a 5 speed (The Stormtrooper)

CDKJudoka
Ahh the bloated BM series Legacy. Some 18" wheels will help the arch void other than that its a solid uneventful vehicle. The key words for choosing this are bolded. After having it for the few days that I have, it is a surprisingly entertaining vehicle. Sure, it's no GT, but I can deal with that for the moment. I have locked down my plans for it though. First is most definitely wheels. Nothing too crazy on the wheel front, since I don't plan on stancing it. Daily driver, after all. Second on the list is body colored mirrors. Uniformity is key here. Third is tint. All of this greenhouse makes for a very warm vehicle in the summer months. Fourth would be a Sport steering wheel. I like my Scooby tillers leather wrapped. Fifth, some leather chairs. The suspension is actually really nice for what I do, drive for hours from restaurant to restaurant. The trunk is big enough to hold my work stuff and all of my firearms for classes (And zombies!!!), so I don't miss the space my OBW had too much. It is roomier all around than my OBW was, making it easier to get the baby seat in and out. (I know I lead such an exciting life.) More pics and other news to come. 2014 Legacy 2.5i 6M - FB25 w/ a 6 speed 2002 Impreza 2.5TS - EJ251 w/ a 5 speed (The Stormtrooper)
Zee199969
FYI if you go with 08-14 WRX wheels or the 6th gen Legacy wheels, you're going to have to run adapters. OR test fit the 2015+ legacy hubs and see if they fit My "Build"

OR test fit the 2015+ legacy hubs and see if they fit I know the 08-14 WRX wheels will fit without much issue. The 6th Gen leggy wheels, not so much, as I have just found. Looks like the 6th Gens finally went to 5x114.3. If I can find the 5th Gen LGT/Sport wheels, I will be fine. 2014 Legacy 2.5i 6M - FB25 w/ a 6 speed 2002 Impreza 2.5TS - EJ251 w/ a 5 speed (The Stormtrooper)
CDKJudoka
So, two weeks and 2,000 miles, my oil level light came on. I checked the oil the day I got the car (1 July - 40239) and it was right up to the top dot on the dipstick. Sweet! I check the oil after a 900 mile road trip to and from NH (5 July 41024), and it was still around that same dot. Okay, not bad. I continue to drive the car to and from work (about 70 miles a day) with one longer trip to one of my sites out near Carlisle PA (about 220 miles round trip) I was just getting off of the highway after driving 100 or so miles and the light comes on. Nicht gut!! Pull over and check the oil and it is halfway between the dots. (15 July 42185) Get it home and turn the car off. Get up in the morning and check the oil again, still between the two dots. Still safe, but a little alarming. Start the car up and no oil light. Okay, maybe it was a fluke. Drive it around to get some groceries and go home. Check the oil this morning (18 July 42201) and the oil is just above the lower dot. No signs of leakage under the car or in the engine bay. Drive the car to the dealership and the light comes on about 2 miles into the trip. The service desk said they will be doing an oil consumption test. I took delivery of this car 17 days ago and it is already exhibiting the dreaded oil consumption issue. It is a CPO and I have a full warranty, so they WILL fix it. Hopefully, I should be getting some news in the next few hours. Some good has come out of it. They gave me a Venetian Red 3.6R as a loaner. Sweet right, but still missing at true manual transmission. http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n79/DarkPhoenixTSi/Legacy/20160718_113536_zps8r98ceqv.jpg http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n79/DarkPhoenixTSi/Legacy/20160718_113556_zpse9ece55t.jpg 2014 Legacy 2.5i 6M - FB25 w/ a 6 speed 2002 Impreza 2.5TS - EJ251 w/ a 5 speed (The Stormtrooper)
dgoodhue
Oh well, that sucks. The good news is that your car falls under the oil consumption settlement.
CDKJudoka
Oh well, that sucks. The good news is that your car falls under the oil consumption settlement. Yep, that is why I am not too worried. That and the 3.6R loaner is a sweet bonus, especially if they are gonna have it for a while. 2014 Legacy 2.5i 6M - FB25 w/ a 6 speed 2002 Impreza 2.5TS - EJ251 w/ a 5 speed (The Stormtrooper)
CDKJudoka
Something small. Got the shift knob today. Looks better than the vinyl knob and it will look even better once I install the leather steering wheel. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160729/635906e99feb93d45bf5c9745a364e26.jpg Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk 2014 Legacy 2.5i 6M - FB25 w/ a 6 speed 2002 Impreza 2.5TS - EJ251 w/ a 5 speed (The Stormtrooper)
CDKJudoka
The saga of the Low Oil Light continues. They completed the consumption test a month ago and found that it had only lost 6.8oz in 1200 miles, well within their spec, according to them. One month and 2900 miles later (I do a ton of driving) and the low oil light is on again! I bring it to the dealership and speak with the Asst Service Manager, showing him the paperwork. He said they would look into it. An hour later, I get a call. She was down almost 3 qts in those 2900 miles, and they are ordering me a new shortblock. I should have her back by Monday. In the meantime, I have a Crosstrek, since the 3.6R was out already. 2014 Legacy 2.5i 6M - FB25 w/ a 6 speed 2002 Impreza 2.5TS - EJ251 w/ a 5 speed (The Stormtrooper)
