ROB3.0R
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum but I really need your help. I've just realized there are some big lumps on two of my tires from hitting potholes. I am currently running a set of 225/45 Nitto Invos on the stock-for Mexico 17" wheels; my budget will be enough to get another equal set or a set of Toyo Proxes TM1, Kumho Ecsta SPT or Dunlop SP Sport MAXX what would recommend brand wise? Also, would you recommend going for a narrower but taller tire, just taller or stay the same size? Thanks in advance. Admin, please move this it is the wrong section. ROB3.0R
Thanks Max. I ended up staying with the same size, unfortunately there's no Tire Rack in Mexico , and the Contis where off my budget, I got the Dunlop which I read have harder sidewall than the Toyos. Do you have any idea how much fender gap should a 3.0R, I got about 2 inches, are all Legacys of this generation that low? I think my suspension is stock although I'm not sure. fedaykin
Let us know how the Dunlops are in a year's time. I heard they get noisy.
98legwag
Personally I am running 235/45/17 Continental DWS06 on 04 STI BBS wheels on my 09 3.0R. Stock tire size here was 215/45/18 for my car so I had the option of 215/50/17 or 235/45/17 to keep my speedo more or less accurate. Attached is a picture of my car for reference. ROB3.0R
@98legwag How do you feel about the change in width going from 215 to 235? Does the steering it feel kind of heavy? I'd think running tires this wide would have that effect on an awd car but I've only driven another awd car and it had the same tire size as mine but is was a B5 S4, so no way for me to really tell. 98legwag
Actually since the wheel/tire package is about 8 lbs lighter than the stock wheels and tires the steering has gotten lighter.
