Nightmaresmk
Well my faithful 2.5 has been pushed to far. At full Boost it's pushing coolant out of the overflow. Under 20psi zero issues. The original plan was just ARP head studs and basic head gasket job sending the heads out to be cleaned and decked. Install my new header and get it retuned by mike of tuning Alliance. Well talking to Mike changed my plans now the block is getting replaced with a machined Ej255/Ej257 with king bearings and Mahle 4032 Pistons. This is a Daily driver build as this car sees 23k miles per year. Max 400whp on E85 if Cobb releases flex fuel. Currently purchased or purchasing parts. New top feed TGV deletes IAG- purchased TigWerks Fab Equal length header, Being Fabricated now Tomei 1mm Headgaskets - purchased Arp headstuds -own already 11mm Oem oil pump - Ordered with the shortblock Misc gaskets and Company 23 tools - waiting to be used. http://imageshack.com/a/img924/6773/EQMvW4.jpg I will update as I continue receiving parts and pieces. LatentWagen
This is quite the rebirth. Interested to see how that billet 18g does! LW's spec. B / YT / IG
Nightmaresmk
Considering the lack of change in power parts my money is still what i had around 335/
rebourne
Upgrades are TGV deletes and a better header vs the Agency Power. are you dropping compression with the 1mm head gasket? Any other power part upgrades? pic thread build thread
Flinkly
Already had deletes. i imagine deleted oem, and new ones look like IAG cnc versions. New header and a fresh block suited for some power. * Build Thread * 26.53 MPG - 12 month Average *
rebourne
in theory the block and parts can make more power, but his previous tune was probably close to what the turbo can make on pump. Factor in dyno differences and I wouldn't bet against +/- 10% of those numbers. Too bad he is changing out the header at the same time. Would be cool to see a back to back of the clone vs the custom. pic thread build thread
Nightmaresmk
Well i ended up running OEM head gaskets per Mike's request. Yeah i went from deleted and ported oems to these IAG units. The header may improve lag that's all. maybe in a year or so i will look into a green or E85 flex when it comes out.
Rester5350
Looks like a solid build. What did those headers set you back?
LatentWagen
Considering the lack of change in power parts my money is still what i had around 335/377 You can throw a lot more boost a built motor Some octane would help that turbo shine, whether race gas or E. Rhitter
He is running 255/55/17s I think. So extra tire gets him up there. My OBXT build

Nightmaresmk
Well some bad news. i still have a random noise from the motor that no one can diagnose. I had it running on the Tigwerks header last night for 8 minutes. took it up and down the road under 30mph under 3k rpms. pulled it into my car port walked away came back to smoke billowing out. My radiator blew. So at this point it is coming off the road.
Rhitter
Wow that sucks. Did you catch it in time? My OBXT build
Nightmaresmk
It didn't over heat. But the noise is leaving a bad taste in my mouth so the motor is coming back out and I'm dissecting to find that noise. I already blew my spare money I had on a new clutch a full gasket set and a bunch of misc pieces so my pockets are empty and I need parts. So the car is done for a while.
