wraedeohed
Hello everyone, I'm a new legacy GT owner coming from the Volkswagen realm. I've owned Subaru before, but I decided to try something different. Now I'm back with a 2012 Legacy GT. I don't want start a shouting match from all the seasoned posters here, but can someone please direct me to a thread discussing or informing "known issues" with 5th Generation LGT. It'd be much appreciated.!
jackal8788
Welcome to the forum and the elite club of the 5th gen LGT. Seeing that you've got a 2012, there probably isn't a whole lot to watch out for. There were some 'shimmy' issues with the '10's but that was addressed in your model. Biggest known issue with the 5th gens is that if you are active on this forum, we will enable you into spending large amounts of cash on your car VF54 to 20G to VF54 to 18G build thread
GTEASER
Welcome and congrats!!! You sir, have a very very rare car. In 2012, only 227 USDM Legacy GT's were produced. There really aren't any big "known" issues to look out for. You have a pretty solid car there. There are some niggly little issues that some cars have had, but nothing to really look out for. Take some time to read, search and explore in the 5th Gen section. We are very active and helpful here, so if you have a question, please don't hesitate to ask. islandborn
Yeah!!!! Welcome!!! You own one of the best sleeper cars possible. We are quite a good group here so have a good time learning up.
FLlegacy
And if you add a nameless downpipe, available at a discount in the MP now, your 2012 will be even rarer! Lol, welcome and may your bank account forgive you! The biggest issue with a 5th gen gt is the merciless bunch of enablers you will encounter here! Also, prepare to be enabled

GTEASER
Seems like lowering springs would be more adequate than coilovers... Only if paired with Koni Yellow sport shocks. The stockers can't handle stiffer spring rates. dgoodhue
If your '12 has 60-80k miles it's probably due for some new struts anyways.
cww516
Yep, may as well hack 'em up and stuff Koni inserts in there. It's the only logical course of action.
Zee199969
If hacking is more than you want to do, Bilstein struts are another option. Or, GTEASER can hack em up and install the Koni dampers. I suggest the 2nd option My "Build"
