Cup_of_Joe
Are there different engines for n/a Subaru's? My car didn't have that badge before I debadged it. But I do see it on other Legacy's. Is there a difference? Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
jackal8788
If I remember correctly, PZEV vehicles don't have different engines, just different catalytic converters and ECM programming. I think it ended up costing a couple hundred bucks more than non-PZEV. VF54 to 20G to VF54 to 18G build thread

Byll
For whatever reason, 6MT N/A 2.5i Legacies are non-PZEV. I have never seen a CVT Gen 5 Legacy without the PZEV badge.

dgoodhue
None of the 2.5i 6MT Legacy had pzev. Interestingly enough you could get a 6mt 2.5i outback of the same gen with pzev. Pzev is an $300 option on the 5th gen 2.5i cvt but if you live in the CA emissions state it is required. In addition to the catalytic converter, I think it also has a charcoal filter on the intake track.
