Rhitter
Just want to report Mikey reported my car tuned beautifully and had no issues scaling the maf and getting me dialed in. How much HP was the intake good for? My OBXT build

Chris GTO TT
Had my car retuned today with the Grimmspeed Intake, Grimmspeed 3 Port Post Controller and DW 65C Fuel Pump. Previous mods are ERZ Catted Downpipe, SPT Downpipe and Turbosmart Kompact BPV. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/81407078/Chris%20LGT%20Spec%20B%20GS%20Intake.pdf http://i1375.photobucket.com/albums/ag459/christobal65/Legacy%20Stuff/IMG_20151023_135548_zpsx2l5jwxp.jpg [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbkX5gQJz-o]08 Legacy spec.B Dyno run - YouTube[/ame] 2003 Baja 5MT 2016 Outback 2.5i Premium w/Eyesight

LegacyDan
Fitted mine yesterday. Out driving in traffic to see how it feels. Can't really drive on boost with it as its lumpy and hesitates. No knock but just too much of a change from the KSTech it seems. Need to try get hold of my tuner. If I had to ask him to send me a remote tune to help things run a bit smoother what should I ask him to do? I see guys mention 12% increase to maf scaling but i presume that's from the stock setup http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/desperatedano/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20151023_175613.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/desperatedano/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20151023_175954.jpg

serx7
Is anyone hearing flutter like this? The Grimmspeed WRX has a stock VF52 and stock BPV. On phone so hard to hear but is the flutter on throttle lift? I def have that w/ a GFB Respons BOV, set to its lightest spring preload. I also get a flutter during spool bn 3k-4k which smooths out after 4k. I've read it's normal w/ the GS EBCS, or it's surge. Boost isn't overly aggressive during spool but is set w/ target 19.5 at 3k and 19.7 bn 3.2k-4k, tapering to 15.6 by 6.8k. Not sure if it's influenced by the GS CAI or has always been there but not audible until installing the GS CAI.

TheMonaLisa
Yup... http://youtu.be/3NXs09ko4aQ The sound you have in your videos is waste gate flutter which is normal with the 3-port ebcs. Here's a good video showing the waste gate actuator fluttering. The sound I was trying to convey in the Grimmspeed video is compressor surge during throttle lift. Likely you always had it cause of the GFB and now you just hear it more cause of the intake. What I can't figure out is how Grimmspeed got it with the stock BPV. I have the stock BPV and I definitely don't got it.

serx7
The surge/flutter happens much less so when rapidly snapping the throttle closed like w/ aggressive shifting, but I don't like it happening when say doing a boosted pass and then easing off the throttle from a boosted condition. I'm considering trying another valve but am not really in a position to be spending the $. Any alternative would need to be able to run VTA as I'm currently kinda stuck w/ that configuration (long story). Can't use my old Turbosmart Kompact bc by design it's slightly open under certain vacuum conditions which causes typical idle/driveability issues associated w/ a vacuum leak. snm95ls
I wouldn't worry about it that much. True compressor surge is what will damage a turbocharger. I ran one of my turbo Hondas without a BOV at all for about a month while waiting on parts to come so I could install a BOV. That GT2560r was well used when I bought it, and took a hell of a lot abuse well after I sold the car.
serx7
Yeah. I've been running the GFB Respons valve for just over a year w/ quite a bit of aggressive driving. Assuming it's been doing this all along inaudibly bc of the stock airbox, I might be OK.
snm95ls
The spring preload on the Respons is adjustable, so it might be worth your time to mess with it. That is what I run with no notable flutter under light throttle lift.
