Side Mirror with Integrated Turn Signal

Can you please post links for the wiring & harness kits you bought? I have a premium trim and want to do the same. Maybe we can work together and figure out a DIY for our different trim levels.

So here is the harness from Defroy guys. The main difference is the tail of the harness compared to the ones I got with the other kit.

The question is, where do I run the wire to receive the power ?

I have to admit, I'd be curious to see the wiring on a Limited... It does appear that there is extra wiring in the pics that AirBorne1Cav posted (looks like 2 more, a grey and a green) but these could be for the wiring for so many other things (auto dim, heat for defrost).

I'm going to be adventurous and most likely take my panel off on Saturday. If I do, I will get some more detailed pics, and possibly hook up my meter and do some testing to see what is what.

**EDIT** I was able to blow up the picture, and it appears that there are two empty spots on the side where there are the additional wires JamesJaikissoon.

Yes please do so. Much appreciated.

Me neither... I still haven't pulled my door panel off. My wife, son, and I have been passing around a nasty stomach bug, and haven't felt up to doing this at all. Hopefully Saturday I will pull my panel and do some testing with my multi-meter.

Alright I need to bring this thread back as I am having the same issue that JamesJaikisson was having. I have the premium trim with the extra harness cables but all of the wires match up and there's no extra as it is on the WRX.

Does anyone know if this can be done or another way around it? I'm currently riding around with new mirrors with turn signals and caps but it's not powered lol.

I moved across the country and started a new job... so this has dropped to a very low priority for me for the time being. If I get some free time, I will see what I can do.

MrCobbs, did you look at the wiring harness inside the door that goes to the mirror? This is where we speculate the extra wires may be...

Yep, I had the panel off and the harness did NOT have any extra cables from what I could see. There were an exact match on the female and male side as well.

Guys. I have returned with info.

My buddy did a similar project with his crossteck.

Anyway it is possible to connect these wires. I will get back to you guys in the coming weeks. The wire itself may be tucked in the door , or near the fuse box in the dash. I must explore.

Let me know what you come up with. I think I may need to purchase a new harness or wire up from where the harness begins.

I believe you will need to wire up under the dash, as the premium and base models do not have a door harness that supports blinkers or blind spot detection unless specified as options at a factory level when the car was manufactured. If you have blind spot indicators I would expect the harness will have the blinker wires present.

So I just finally got the correct cord numbers for the doors to add the turn signals to the Premium and Base models.

Driver's Side - 81820AL04B

Passenger's Side - 81821AL04B

Does anyone know what page in the service manual shows where to change out the actual cord? If so, looks like I have a weekend project!!

Wouldn't you be able to just run the t/s wire to the base of the cord at the body instead of replacing the cord?

We've tried tracing it out but had no luck. Instead of wasting more time and possibly screwing up the wiring I decided to just buy the harness.

Both came out to less than I expected.

I installed turn signals onto my 15 premium. I just tapped into my factory turn signal wiring. I added a fuse as a precaution. I did have to drill a hole into my firewall in order to run wiring.
