Replace pillar & headliner w/black fabric?

I know this has been discussed some in dbwillis's thread here

...but rather than further hijack his thread on a boost gauge install, I thought I'd pose the question separately. Has anyone else done a more extensive fabric replacement on the pillars & headliner so that they match the black on the rest of the interior for us black leather people? ...or is anyone planning to do this? I'd really like to get rid of these stupid taupe pillars & headliner, but I'd like to see a walkthrough before attempting it...and possibly a good online source for the material.

I've never done any apholstery work in a car before, so I'm a tad wary, but I *really* like how it looks on dbwillis's A pillar and think I'd love to do it on the rest of the car... Thoughts?

Look up any local car upholster and ask if they can do a charcoal suede wrap for you. I am in Canada and I am also looking at doing this upgrade as the Taupe is just PLAIN UGLY to me. I've seen it done on TV and it's not that difficult - provided you have some common sense and good glue that wont bubble in heat. To combat the darkness in the interior I suggest getting some LED interior bulbs which will eliminate that dark look at night.

Good Luck in the search Jazzymt - send me a PM if you find anything.

thread resurection.
Hory cow dis is an old thread! ;)

I never did anything about the taupe interior, but I gotta say - I couldn't care less about it being very dark inside. I still think all black interior would look fantastic - even in the Tucson heat (not that a taupe ceiling makes hells bells difference in the sun).
