spazlamhaslam
Just fabricated mine over the weekend out of 20G aluminum plate. ELH and Moroso oil pan require extra clearance. A 45degree down at 6" and 4.5" bent back flat. also fabricated two new brackets to bolt too on the engine cradle. I will get so more pics and more measurements to add soon. also adding trap doors for oil changes. Awesome! Let's see this thing!

wesleyCrowbar
I can cut parts with a waterjet as well, if need be. Getting material is the hard part, though

Nightmaresmk
This is a skid plate for the 04-07 wrx/sti Basically i am stealing the cooling slot idea and trap door idea. simple and it works. Only difference is i am using diamond plate for the doors. http://imageshack.com/a/img673/2613/c1Ts2i.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img912/6589/vh4lp9.jpg

Nightmaresmk
It is not easy. Buy a nibbler. or have these guys water jet it first and mark it for the bends and you drill the holes. The rear brackets i bent from l brackets i cut down and drilled out the holes. i use en-capped nuts
Sgt.Gator
I have the RalliTec plate on my car. It is heavy duty, and heavy! It's 1/8", you don't need it any thicker. The cutouts on the front sides are for the factory tow loops, and the oil filter and drain cuts are obvious. Also note the side wings bent up....$265. http://www.rallitek.com/2887-large_default/skid-plate-legacy-turbo-2005-2009impreza-turbo-2008-2013.jpg..http://www.rallitek.com/2888-thickbox_default/skid-plate-legacy-turbo-2005-2009impreza-turbo-2008-2013.jpg..http://www.rallitek.com/3245-thickbox_default/skid-plate-legacy-turbo-2005-2009impreza-turbo-2008-2013.jpg Here's the video link of them installing one. http://www.rallitek.com/rally-skid-plates/5587-skid-plate-legacy-turbo-2005-2009impreza-turbo-2008-2013.html Nothing like a race track to find the weak points in man and machine. K2e2vin
I thought Rallitek stopped making them. I remember trying to get the older version of that(had SSI on it) and they said they can sell me a partially completed one(I think it just needed to be bent and didn't have the holes cut out?) but I remember it being more than I wanted to pay for something that wasn't complete. Rallitek basically stopped being business for a couple years. I think it was sold. Starting last June or so they have ramped up and started production and selling again. I bought mine last fall after I left the track at 90mph and went for an X-Games Rally ride..... I also use it as a base for my splitter/air dam. Nightmaresmk
I loved the gtspec design since it had cooling louvers and trap doors on top of side covers. Down fall is it's expensive not produced so u have to order 10 and wait 6 months. Beatrush has a nice design but compared to the 2015 you can tell they have been lazy and sadly it's only sold at two places and i never could confirm they had them in stock. RalliTek is a skid plate. Big robust tough has some side protection, downside it's heavy it doesn't have trap doors and no extra cooling. Primitive This one is pure skid plate. 3 louvers and a basic replaceable design for for off roads to be able to destroy and replace cheaply. I looked at all these options. I don't offroad in my outback shes a highway queen. She's modified so cooling is a huge plus, smoothing out the bottom of the car for better aerodynamics is a plus Trap doors to keep things clean is a must because i live in the northeast. The only part of my car with rust on it is my cat back and i plan to keep it that way.
