SockMonkey
So I've spent the last few days scouring for info. I have a pretty much stock 97 GT with the ej25d engine. I know delta can do the cams, but because they have to weld on material and regrind them its x3 the cost of SOHC regrinds, something around $700 if I remember correctly. Now one great thing with these cars is how they are like legos. I've done the 95 ej22 intake swap, and the MSD coil swap. I was hoping I could find some cams from another engine that would give me a little more performance along with the exhaust in putting on. Does anyone have any info or links about my, hopefully cheaper, options?

SockMonkey
I've found a few references on different cams that will fit, but no one comments on any benefits. It was always just "EJXX Cams fit". nothing else.
86bratman
The current price for the delta regrinds is about $95 per cam plus tax and shipping.
SockMonkey
yeah, for SOHC cams... Those are easy, he just grinds them, sends them back and you just plop them in and readjust. With DOHC they have to weld ON material before grinding the cams and the process is about x3 as much (I called them directly).
bjkroll
For some reason the thought of welding a cam just to add material scares me. I wonder if the change in temperament of the material has any impact over time... or how he is even controlling that.
Osei
Why don't you call the company and ask all your questions. First visit their website. This is not a garage shop, but a well established company. O.
twisty
(I called them directly). Why don't you call the company and ask all your questions. O. nothing wrong with getting other peoples opinions, IMO. companies arent usually in the business of passing on work, so their opinions are fairly biased. SockMonkey
I don't think Osei was referring to me.
