Soarin
I'm about to upgrade the suspension on my 06 LGT sedan that has about 95,500 miles on the clock with Bilstein HD struts, Spec B mounts, Swift Springs, a bunch of Whiteline bushings and their RCK kit. I don't plan on upgrading endlinks with AVO ones until I get Cusco sways, but just out of curosity... Will the stock front and rear endlinks hold up for the next year and a half from now? I know this sounds stupid, but I thought about asking anyways. Just for additional info this car gets treated pretty gently for the most part with spirited driving on the weekends. apexi
My biggest worry would be reinstalling the front end links, if you're able to remove them without stripping the inside of the threaded portion where the hex wrench goes into. I stripped the hex hole on my original end links, and basically had use vice grips to loosen them little more to the point where I was able to cut them off the car. So if I were you, I would maybe grab a cheap set of replacement end links to hold you over for a year and a half, because I wouldn't really want to put the stockers back on. Soarin
It wouldn't really be up to me to be concerned about. A Subaru specialist tuner is doing all of the work. Still, I'll consider getting new links. Anyone else come across this issue too? More info the better.
boxman
It would be completely dependent on whether the stock units are in good health or not, it's unusual for them to last more than about 75k miles or so...some sooner, some later and both conditions dependent on overall driving habits and harshness of the road environment that you're driving. Personally I chose to do sways and endlinks at the pretty much the same time that I did struts and bushings..within a month or so of each other. All of those parts work very closely together and the condition of one affects the other in relation to function and rate of wear.
CapnJack
Endlinks either work or they are broken completely(ball pulled out of joint or connection rod broken off). They may make some clunking noise when going over bumps if they are worn, but they will still work. If you are looking for a cheap alternative, take a look at rockauto.com and get some Moogs. They are incredibly well built and very reasonable.
boxman
Stock vs. Moog, both are rear endlinks.
Soarin
Firstly, I want to thank all of you for the comments and the insight into this. I ended up taking money out of what savings I had and decided on AVO 50mm front and 70mm rear endlinks.
