Outbackid's '05 LGT Journal/Build thread

Hey all, I've been on this forum for a while but I figured I'd actually make a post about my car instead of just asking questions and buying/selling stuff. I bought my '05 LGT wagon in April of 2013, and I swapped in a new EJ257 block and more over the summer. Just a few days ago I got tuned, made an estimated 310whp and 350wtq. Details and pics below. If anybody is interested, I may be doing a writeup on how to install the GM 3 port as I couldn't find a guide on how to install one on a LGT or 08+ WRX, only older WRX's.

 

Mod list:

 

- New EJ257 Shortblock from Off The Line Performance

- Cleaned up and resurfaced OEM OBXT heads

- GM 3 port EBCS

- Low mile VF46

- OEM '08 STi uppipe

- CNT racing Catless DP

- Power Enterprise 850cc injectors

- DeatschWerks DW65C fuel pump

- Torque Solutions TMIC

- GrimmSpeed PnP ceramic coated TGV deletes

- Cobb SF intake

- E85 tune by Graham at Boosted Performance Tuning in Des Moines, IA

- Hogzaust mod :lol:

Then my build. I started with a new EJ257 block

I had the heads cleaned up at RJ Machine of South Sioux City, NE.

Put it all together with a new oil pump, timing kit, PCV system, oil cooler, oil pan, and every gasket on the motor.

Well, I know this was hardly a popular build log, but I figured I'd update anyways. I kept modding the car for some time after I got tuned on E85, I installed H&R springs on Spec B struts, got some TR Motorsports MT-1 18x8.5 +35 wheels with Dunlop Direzza ZII in 245/35/18, got rid of my Prodrive P1's (17x7) for some 2007 WRX wheels, got a front lip, used a JDM OEM Defi Gauge pack mount to mount a single DIN in my cubby hole, added a wideband in a WRX gauge pod and double-sided taped it to my dash, got a Magnaflow catback, installed a Bride knockoff bucket for a while, and I think that's it. I sold the car in June '16 to a good friend of mine, who has made it into probably the craziest LGT wagon I've seen stateside. Wrap, full Mature aero kit, air struts, BBK, Volk TE37SL, C-West wing, and more. Currently has the engine out to do some drivetrain work. I loved the car, but he's turning it into everything I wanted it to be, so I'm glad it's gone to a good home.
