Noob Question

Recommended Posts

you can just get an ECUTek and flash it.. There are differences, such as timing and other variables.. it's best off to get your stock ECU to get reflashed.

for reference, 2005 STi UTECs work on 2005 GTs, it's just that you need to create new maps for the GT.. you shouldn't use STi maps on the GT due to some differences in timing and fuel profiles.

Would an STi ECU fit into an 05 Legacy? If it could, could I flash it with ECUTek.

If you would like to reflash your ECU, why not just reflash the one that came with the car? The STi ECU is not superior in any way.

Not to beat a dead horse, just for my own clarification .... ECUTek or Cobb AP ???????? What's the best option ???

There is no "best option" for everyone, just pro's and con's to both. Do a search on them, I promise you'll find a significant amount of information.
