Which eyelids are best?

I have eyelids on my '98 OBS and I love the way they look. I know that Ings has a set, but I don't know if I can afford to plunk down $300 on a set. :(

I see a bunch of them when I search through the threads, but no one seems to name them. I'm also skeptical of really cheap ones b/c I'm not sure how they'll fit over the rounded-out portion of the lens. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks Rallispec. I just checked AVO...$209 w/shipping, addl. $80 for the painting (pita false advertising!). Heard any feedback on how well they fit? I'll send Red Beast a PM in the morning if I can remember :)

oops sorry, you're right,, painting is extra.

they should fit with zero problems.

Sorry guys - while we could probably arrange for painting over here in Japan, as we note on the page, painted items have a tendency to get scratched, no matter how carefully we pack them. I think that's because customs gorillas tend to check them for drooogs or such. :/

And to be honest, with the prices they charge for painting over here, it's likely cheaper (and possibly better quality!) to get them painted locally.

Oh, and apologies for the K2gear issue - when we first got into them, we were told that the price was painted, and then they told us later that that was the unpainted price. :(

Cheers,

Good point about customs. You mean the eyelids don't come with drugs included? :D

Heck, $80 is cheap compared to around here. I paid $100 to get the eyelids for my OBS painted. Stupid black obsidian. :)

They both look good, though. The AVO ones (first) are a little more aggressive; but I like that the K2Gear's (second) seem to follow the bodylines a little better. Anyone else's opinions?

Aside from Scans007 full car pics with his INGS eyelds, does anyone have pics of the whole car with AVO eyelids (K2 and other brand) so I can get a better idea what the different brand eyelids would look like,..I only see the headlight pics of them and its hard to get an idea of what they'd look like,..

Also, who sells them other than coming from Japan as I wouldnt want to spend more than $150 with shipping unpainted going to Hawaii,...

Wanted to look at the K2 and other brand from AVOs website,...also any other venders car pics if you know of any,..

Also, I guess the only "nice" eyelids are coming from Japan,..Requested quote for the INGS eyelids and how long itll take,..I take it anything from Japan is 3 months min shipping time???

Why not use Vinyl? Now I have been out of the sense for a while but I am sorry I am not paiding that much for two little pieces of plastic. If I can find vinyl in the color I need I will just use that and save myself a LOT of money.

That is what I have on my lenses now,..tried vinyl tape but too wide,..so I got electrical (yup ghetto) tape on it and it matches well on my OB LGT,....got the look of the eyelids, but I guess cause eyelids are plastic that "sits" on top of the headlights,..it looks better and more "complete",..

But I put off buying it till it gets cheaper or EBAY sells em as the WRX ones are "really" cheap,...

i custom made my eyelids w/ vinyl! they look great... I will post some pics and you guys will be impressed. I tryed to base the style off the AVO eyelids and I think I did a better job. If anyone wants a templet to trace onto matching vinyl then i'll be glad to hook them up.

Stop hating on the vinyl.. I just saved a bunch of money.... (on my car insurence by switching to gyco)
