samcuomo
Okay. I'm currently in the process of replacing cam seals and using some questionable methods to lock down the gears. I had something wedged between them (Yes I'm an idiot) and it chipped the cam gears a tiny bit. Should I replace or do you think I'll be okay? JmP6889928
First of all-how bad? Secondly, did it chip them in the middle of the tooth or on the end? If it's in the middle and it's very small, use some 400 grit sandpaper and lightly sand down the edges to make them smooth and as long as there are no other cracks, I'm sure they are fine. I have chipped cam gears on my 97 OB for almost 150K now and I'm getting ready to do it all again and I'm going to reuse mine again.
samcuomo
It's honestly not bad at all I figured It'd be fine, but I figured Would get a second opinion on it. Also its in the middle so I'll try that.
