frapjap
I've searched all over this forum and the internet in general but cannot find a list of all of the grounds located in the engine bay on my 2007 Legacy. The ones I've found are: drivers strut tower passenger head to chassis drivers head to chassis starter pair at the front of the passengers side intake runner Am I missing one or more? Thank you all for the help with a trivial question
jeffy2.5xt
no input from me, but why do you ask? are you going to do an upgraded setup of some sort? just curious.
frapjap
I have a no start, no CEL condition after R&R of head gaskets. Wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything small and simple.
Max Capacity
Two ground wires on the bracket in front of the master brake cylinder. Make sure they are clean before you attach them. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Max Capacity
There is a thread about replacing and making up the two lower grounds off the heads. I thought I had a picture of the rear grounds, but couldn't find earlier this AM. I now I have it in my file on my home PC. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. frapjap
I replaced the the grounds on the heads when the heads went back in. They were corroded, broken, and not doing anything of value. If you find it, I'm looking forwards to the photo.
discojon
Signal wire to starter attached? That will cause your issues...
frapjap
Signal wire to the starter is attached, and I am able to jump the starter with the battery. However, it won't turn over since there is no fuel. Starter wire gets 12v. Max Capacity- I looked for those grounds but did not see them. http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a635/frapcap/unnamed_zps5373e5a7.jpg Top view of master cylinder. http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a635/frapcap/unnamed3_zpsb2d44131.jpg Ground on the front of the strut tower, behind the fuse box. http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a635/frapcap/unnamed2_zps268c5ab8.jpg View looking at the side of the strut tower at the only bracket near the master cylinder. http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a635/frapcap/unnamed4_zps32ff007e.jpg Another view of the same area, elevated. frapjap
Went to take a look for those grounds and the bracket. What year is that engine? I dont have the bracket or any grounding cables anywhere near that head on my 2007 2.5i, n/a engine. The intake runners on the engine you posted are plastic. Mine are metal. http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a635/frapcap/photo1_zpsb4324bd5.jpg Photo of the drivers side head by the heater core hoses. The only pair of grounding cables I have on my engine are in the front of the intake. http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a635/frapcap/photo3_zpsb9c730f9.jpg

frapjap
Thank you for the link. Its missing the 2007 model, but I've been working off the 2008 FSM for a few weeks. Sure am glad someone saw fit to upload that to the web. I'm really hating this effin' car.
Max Capacity
The 07 should be the same as a 05-06 for the most part. Or like you have been doing the 08 might have the 07. I have never looked. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
