Shreddyleggy
Hey guys I'm new to the forums and having a subie I've been looking around and can't find a thread for fuel door release cable. When I got my car the fuel door wouldn't latch close come to find out the whole pin and cable to hold it is buried inside I dug it out but it's melted and broke so before I go buy a new one I was wondering if anyone could tell me how difficult it is to install a new fuel door release cable. Also any suggestions on why I'd only be getting 17.4mpg doesn't seem very good for a subaru. Just did my spark plugs but don't know why else it'd be getting so low. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/19/u4eze2as.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
rob-2
17mpg isn't bad if it's really cold and you're tuned. And most subi's get horrible MPG. I mean just horrible for small motors. 2.5i in our gen barely did any better then our turbo'd.
Shreddyleggy
So 17mpg is decent for our gen then. It just seems off from when I bought the car did a beach trip with it and didn't know I had a misfire in the cylinder and it did excellent mileage got it back n seems it did worse. But if it's not bad then I'll quit worrying so much bout it thanks for the input though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Max Capacity
Average mpg is 22-24 for these cars. if your getting 17 you must spend a lot of time at WOT. get it checked out. http://people.csail.mit.edu/ilh/vacation/ you can find the cable install in there. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Shreddyleggy
Well I do have a rack on it and snow tires and I know that takes away some but didn't think it would be that much but that must be it thank you max Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Max Capacity
With the Thule box on, I get just a little less mpg, not like your getting. Is the car tuned ? or on the stock MAP ? 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Max Capacity
We recommend you get the car off the stock map. It has flaws in it. Open source tune if your good with a lap top, or Cobb AP Tuner Mike Kinsman of http://www.tuningalliance.com hes a Vendor on here in the Vendor Forum, can help you out. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Shreddyleggy
I currently don't own a lap top and as much as I'd love an access port it's out my budget for a while yet. But I will check around to see how much it is for a tune to get it off stock map Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DonnyJagaru
Max, if I have to watch you misuse the word "your" again I'm going to scream lay down in front of my AWD. Best case for my Subie is 25US Mpg. I've owned a V8 car that got the same mileage.
rob-2
17 with snows and rack is normal. I failed to realize it but I was getting 15-16 with a similar setup during ski season last year.
