I Donated broknindarkagain Posted February 11, 2014 I Donated Share Posted February 11, 2014 Who can tell me for sure what pin on the ECU is the AT/MT identifier (the one I'm suppose to ground out on a swap). I've got several different answers so far. I have the car driving now, but its throwing transmission codes. -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." johnegg
read this. same year? 96 - 97 ecu are identical. 98 has at least one change, but not trans related. 99, i don't know. 95 is way different. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/127484-97-outback-auto-to-5spd-swap/?hl=%2Becu*+%2Bpinout&do=findComment&comment=1086552
Zues Marine
95 is pin 20. 96-99 is pin 81. I've literally spent hours researching this before i did it in my own vehicle so im guessing something is jacked up elsewhere
Baddog
Yeah pin 20 on the 95 has not worked for me either on the 95 Leggy or the girls 95 Preza
Zues Marine
what codes are you throwing? Its B48.20 http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/files/swap/2-7_ECU_I-O_page2.jpg
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted February 12, 2014 Author I Donated Share Posted February 12, 2014 I haven't grounded out a pin at all yet. I just jumped the NSS wires on the trans harness (the 4x4 connector under the hood) and it started right up. I drove about 50 problem free miles...until the sun set and I realized that I didn't have headlights LOL. Check engine light came on for some 1702 code or something like that. It was transmission diagnostic something or the other. I can pull the code tomorrow. I've read so much conflicting information on what pin it is....thats why I'm asking -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." I Donated broknindarkagain Posted February 12, 2014 Author I Donated Share Posted February 12, 2014 Zeus, Alldata says its pin 81 for the 95. I can't find specifics in the FSM. What section did you find that under? -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Baddog
ALldata is wrong then. Pin 81 is for the 96-99. So Zeus. We are supposed to GROUND out that wire right? Why does it show it needs 5 volts.
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted February 13, 2014 Author I Donated Share Posted February 13, 2014 I grounded pin 20. Doesn't work. Check engine light is back on again. As well, I'm idling at 1,500RPMs? Whats the deal Here is my setup MT ignition switch (out of a 96) AT malfunction switch & steering wheel AT ECU TCU is still plugged in (should it be unplugged?) Two pins for the Neutral Safety Switch on the trans harness are bridged together (on the 4x4 connector) -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
