Viber
Seems like more and more firms are seeing that there is a market in the AWD niche in the midsize sedan segment. Though Chysler smartly offers a rear wheel bias. Enter the Chrysler 200. It Has a swooping VW CC roofline, and decent specs based upon current information. Not bad at all and a huge improvement over the previous gen. 2.4-liter four-cylinder 173 pound-feet of torque; 295-hp, 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 With 262 lb-ft of torque. http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/adam/922429233a55850daddb18f5d294e105/c3-main.jpg http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/adam/168d18d0896a68fba8c7c285a8c865c3/c2-bottom-right.jpg http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/adam/175898e6ed18535f733726fedfd51f9e/c1-left.jpg http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/adam/6578159f8f47451e68ca0dd01e794427/c1-right.jpg http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/adam/48e256371e28b87e5af40e9a7292386e/c1-top.jpg http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/adam/e5a045eaa71f7e50b9ea70a1ead6ff99/c5-top.jpg
fstaslp
VAST Improvement in the design. Driving would be the test though.
TrueWhiteBoy
Yeah the V6 is sounding like quite the car. I think they mentioned a 9 speed transmission too for the auto people.
LongHiway
Personally, I'd give Chrysler / Fiat a few decades to prove their quality before I was serious. But, competition is good for us consumers.

GTTuner
Its not a Dart although it may share some components...... and our reliability has been stellar with Fiat. Consumer reports states the Dart is the most reliable domestic compact right now. So piss in your hats foreign car lovers. As for the new 200, AWD will be an option on V6 models only. This segment is brutally competitive so it better be a stand out if Chrysler plans to sell a lot of them! The price point will certainly open some avenues for conquest buyers. Seriously though, the 200 looks like a nice car, but then again Chrysler's problem was never aesthetics. Chryslers always had decent style, but were never all that sporty (especially the intended to be sporty cars...ahem Avenger, Sebring) and certainly not reliable. LongHiway
Dart is the most reliable domestic compact right now. Why do I do this? What cars are being compared? Domestic = Cruze and Fusion?
GTTuner
Fusion is mid size dude. COMPACT. Doesn't matter.......we live in a country where we hate our own companies, products, etc. Might as well go to China if you want to but something American anyway IDGAF anymore. The big 3 have worked real hard to get a rep for making crap. An equal amount of work will be needed to win people over. Ford has certainly made huge strides. Chrysler and GM still need work but they are certainly on the right path. That Regal GS AWD is sexy...but it's also German

Though Chysler smartly offers a rear wheel bias. ......................... Huh??? Rear wheel bias??? IT's a FWD car which disengages the rear when it's not needed. How can it be rear wheel bias? Even the pic above shows a fwd bias layout. The only RWD bias cars in Chryslers' stable are the 300 family which includes the Dodge Charger and Challenger. . . I have enough drama for now..... TrueWhiteBoy
I remember reading that the AWD had a rear bias somewhere too. Hmmm, can't find it now that I look for it though. It mentions it can send up to 60% to the rear wheels, but that doesn't exactly confirm it.

Viber
Just priced it out and it was $33,380 without nanny tech and interior bling. Pretty good deal...especially when we are talking nearly 300hp...and it's one of the few cars without soon to be cliche bass mouth face. And from Chrysler's site: ncluded on all the Chrysler 200S and 200C AWD models and 200C models equipped with the V6 engine, the Sport mode provides more directional power with more rear-drive bias on AWD models. The result is more sport-oriented handling characteristics. 60% rear bias full time AWD? Provided the suspension is not complete ass, this is going to be a very competitive sport sedan. NVAKeith
Just had a 4 cylinder FWD 200 as a rental for a day. Was impressed with the ride, solidity and steering feel. Where my LGT shudders and shakes over bumps the 200 felt like it was a solid piece. However, I did not like the tiny door mirrors, short windows, drivertrain, and rotary shifter (grabbed park a couple times when I was shooting for reverse while parking).
