RedDawg
Had one of the lines going to my ebcs pop off this past weekend (the red circled hose). Put the hose back on, zipped tied it down this time, but the CEL for P2096 stuck around. This happened a few months ago, same hose popped off, and the CEL cleared after about 2 days. Should I pull the battery terminal and let the ECU reset itself? http://i43.tinypic.com/ekhv0k.jpg
Max Capacity
The ECU will clear the code after 4 restarts of the engine. If you know what your doing you can push in the clutch, turn the engine off/on four times the CEL will go out. You can also reset it like you said and push the brake pedal a few times. I normally just pull the cable for 15 minutes. Hey it's a good time to clean the cables and use a good grease to seal them to keep moisture out. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. RedDawg
hmm so the code is still being thrown then as ive definitely turned the car on/off more than 4x since putting the hose back on.
Max Capacity
So may be you have a bad front O2 sensor. Your best to get a OEM one to replace it. My aftermarket front only lasted about 2 years. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. RedDawg
is it terrible to drive with this code? I've got a 400mil roadtrip for the holidays on Saturday, I don't know if i'll have the time to climb under there and swap in a new O2 sensor. KRM
changing it is as easy. remove the front pass side wheel, disconnect power to car of course, remove old part, then install new one.
Max Capacity
I use a O2 sensor socket and wrap a screw type hose clamp around it to help hold it shape while trying to remove it. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
