No more blue and mismatched Subaru badges. Ordered an overlay kit from autocityimports. Was easy to do and even easier once I applied a little heat.

 

 

 

 

 

Better pic of the emblem. It kinda matches the wings in the grille which is what I was going for.

Still needs little work. The carbon overlays were a pain to peal off.

A buddy of mine took some photos of my car while I was arriving at a meet.

 

 

Did get my spec B grille and tow hook repainted for a meet coming up.

 

 

 

And with my recently done Tribeca Front Sway Bar swap and I am now having random pops and thuds while driving. Sometimes they occur when I do a decent accelerate and then let off, sometime around corners and sometimes on bumps. Any ideas?

Added some washers to the end links and now everything is good.

 

Removed the roof rack, repainted the tow hook a darker color, and got a new surround for the hook.

So on the day I'm told my cat has cancer (not a super bad one but can't say any of them are good), I get this.

 

 

 

In other news, I've been working on repainting the tow hook and working on a new surround for it. Well I ran out of paint on the surround and it doesn't look the best by any means. New paint is about 3 weeks out. This new surround is cut a little bigger and has a rubber ring.

 

The hook is the same color as the wings in the grille.

Got some dirty wheels yesterday (they needed a lot of cleaning seriously)

 

These are the first, non OEM wheels that I have every gotten since I started driving a Subaru.

 

Some Rota G-Forces. a smidge wider and a lot lighter. I do not have my tires on them yet. The included tires are a hair smaller.

Replaced the drain plug with a Fumoto QuikValve

Trying out Pennzoil Platinum Ultra (5-30) made from natural gas oil

With a FRAM Ultra Synthetic filter.

 

Cleaned and re-oiled the Green Air Filter

 

Also modded the car so that I no longer need to hit the unlock button twice to unlock all doors.

It was crazy, Yesterday I was driving in the woods and suddenly a crazy rock jumped out in front of me and I tried to avoid it but it was too late... The center bumper guard took most of the hit....

 

 

 

 

 

Actually I was being stupid on a incline and thought I had clearance and I didn't....

So I have touched up the front bumper. I'm a little less angry with myself.

 

And today, I installed a GrimmSpeed MCB. The 05-07 Non VDC one is a real PITA to install. Not much workspace at all. Have a decent tooth ratchet to help speed things up. I had to also ziptie the fuel regulator in place until I can make a mounting plate (its about 1.5" forward in the 3.0R model compared to the LGT).

One Week review of the MCB... this is a must upgrade for all 4th gens... Wow... It doesn't affect the initial brake hit but once your past that, you notice it...

I kill my struts so the ride is very bouncy as its all spring and no dampening.

 

 

This past weekend I helped out my neighbor, I picked up my xmas tree as well as one for them.

Very nice sedan. Don't see many of them. I had the same air freshener for a bit. They lose smell pretty quick, but they are pretty cool. You MCB is for non VDC, correct?

Firstly, A rant. I am an Apple user... I loved iPhoto but this new Photos program stinks. I have tried to give it time to work out its kinks but its still crap. The photo below was edited in Apple Photos (with heavy adjustments).

I took the same original image and put it on my Microsoft Surface 3 and using the Windows 10 Photo app, I got this (with only minor tweaks).

 

Now that I am done with that, here are a few updates.

Well. Its been a long time since I updated this. The car decided to drop the code after some "spirited" highway driving. Not much has changed beyond that.

 

Almost had 2 sets of Spec B Bilsteins but both deals fell though. Almost had a OBP GT hood but my hood was too flawed for his "flawless" hood. Other stuff has been keeping me not as active but I'll go into that some other time.

I did redo the tow how in yellow plastidip (dipped in a can, not sprayed) because the paint would not hold on it.

My mothers dome light stopped working awhile back but when I swapped hers out for mine, both units worked. Well, over the last 6 months mine began to refuse to work in the on position. Door position worked no problem.

 

I got a replacement from a junk yard I use and when I was about done with the swap, I noticed I had 2 different color lenses.

The darker one is the original.

Well guys, It's finally time (and just in time, moving and loosing a good garage). This Sunday, my car will be getting dropped. I was waiting for a set of Spec B Bilstein but I simply can't wait any longer. My car is getting dropped on a factory set of GT struts and springs.

 

Maybe later I'll get some Bilstiens and continue my Outback 3.0R Spec B dreams...

Today, was a pain, Swapped out the GT for the Bilstein. The initial swap happened in no time. After the install, the car would roll in park. This lead to a small test drive where this happened.

 

That led to a new axle being purchased and while trying to install, damaging the threads on the ball joint...

Got a die set (from Lowes because it was late in the day and no one had m12x1.25 dies anywhere) to reshape the thread after trying to file the threads back into shape.

 

No pics of the install and I am not sure if it made the improvement I was hopping for...
