Tie rod end....

So there is a bad tie rod end on my wagon.

 

If I need to do an alignment anyway is there anything else that should or might as well be replaced at the same time?

 

Car has been harder on inside edge of all tires as well... noticeably more wear there but nothing bad.

since you are doing the alignment any way, you might consider doing both sides.

but inside tire wear might be camber, not toe-in or tie rod end related.

 

i would look at everything else, especially the inner rod ends on the rack.

if tight, leave it alone.

 

ball joints can be a bitch and run the risk of busting the pinch bolt or even the knuckle.

so i would not mess with them unless you are sure they are bad.

 

but price all the parts and see how much you want, or can afford, to spend.

or buy the 3 year warranty on the alignment, and do more in that time frame.

Can camber issues be caused by worn struts or springs? Car rides fine.

I'll just piggy back this here since it's relevant, and may help OP.

 

I was browsing Rock Auto, and came across outer tie rods ranging from $10, to $34. I know the Moogs are good, but would you trust the cheaper brands? (Flennor, Deeza, Delphi)

Replace the parts that have play in them and then align it. On the note of struts / springs....you generally don't ever have to replace springs....struts however should be done every 50/60k

My car rides fine and passes the "push" test on each corner. It doesn't handle as well as it used to though this could be a factor of the tie rod end going bad...

 

I was going to get the Moog parts... but since so many other things are wrong with my car saving a little would be nice.

i wouldn't buy the moog parts locally unless you get great pricing from someone.

 

but by ordering online, you can get them for a better price, closer to the cheap stuff locally.
