reborngarcia1985
Is it a bad idea to used different clutch parts from different brands? Like the pressure plate from act and use a oem clutch disk and a throw out bearing from spec. Now those are just ie and that is not what I am thinking of using. Just wanted to see and hear what everyones idea was on this
Max Capacity
Clutch disc and pressure IMO must be a matched set. So yes, it's a bad idea. TOB can be from anyone. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Max Capacity
In fact they are only a few places that make TOB's. Back in 1979 I was at McCloud Clutches in So. CA. I was watching the guy open the BCA bearing box take out the TOB and put it in a McCloud box. I have the new Spec TOB that came with my Spec clutch but I use the TSK3 TOB, that I replaced when I did the new clutch. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
