aguyinthesky
so my jack@ss roommate went to grab my car from a girls house while i was away. He got a spare key out of my room but no fob. He pulled the door lock fuse to reset the security so he could start the car and drive it. Some thing happened to where whatever he did, the cigarette lighter outlet and the cruise control cease to work. Ive checked every fuse and cannot figure out why the hell both of these stopped working. And input would be greatly appreciated

johnegg
recheck, and test the fuses. one is bad or missing. or he pulled a wire loose. but it sounds like a fuse.

Zues Marine
check the plug going into the cruise computer also, its up near the interior fuse box and may have been messed with.. i'd be so pissed tho if one of my buddies pulled that heist shit with my car
Kennyfvholla
If it is not any of the fuses, you need to look at all the wiring and make sure nothing is unplugged or shorted.
aguyinthesky
so strangely after messin with a fuse to get the horn working again, the cruise control also stared to function fine. Ive checked the wire leads from the cig lighter outlet and tried to trace it back up te harness but still cant find anything wrong, though thats the only thing left thats non functional. twisty
mebbe check the back of the fuse block for gunk and corrosion? if messing with a fuse got the horn and CC working, it could be others effected as well.
johnegg
remove the cig lighter and check for power at the connections? maybe it is the unit? but messing with fuses and then the horn works, this suggests something else.

aguyinthesky
so today i went down to the salvage yard, grabbed a whole cig lighter outlet unit from an outback and boom, works now. Weirdest thing, i have no idea how messin with the fuses fried the whole unit....
